On the November 19th, kotaku is hosting a Child's Play event (if I have to tell you what that is, please hand in your gamer card or at the very least raise that rock a crack) practically in my backyard, or at least it would be if didn't live in an apartment.
Here's why I bring this up. Anybody here who lives in Colorado and plans on attending, let me know, as the wife (Jezmyn) and I might be attending, finances willing. It would be nice to put something to a name besides a picture of a small animal with poor grammar skills.
@ mykalgaidin nice to see there is still some sort of humanity out there and not just greedy internet trolls....{sorry I am at least 1800 miles away}...the east coast to Mile high stadium. Nice overall kids cause though.....kudos...8^)
Uh, well, I will be in the Rocky Mountains...but I have to stay north... I wish something like that would take place up here, but I think most of the people are too poor...
I LOVE this charity. Plain and simple. way back 20 years ago when I was much younger, I was in the hospital for surgery. During my recovery, the best part of the recovery, was walking down to this room they had at the hospital. A hugh projection tv with a Nintendo hooked up and a bunch of games. It helped pass the time and eased my recovery (even if I had that tasty hospital food). Close to every year this is one of the charity's I donate to, others being the 501st and Toys for Tots. Unfortunately Colorado is a bit far away and I have a personal hatred for that state (long story-starts with a girl like they always do).
@Avitron I like CO, but if I had my way I'd be living in Seattle. The sun hurts my eyes, and I prefer the rain.
I'd encourage everyone who is not able to attend a Child's Play event in their area to visit their site and make a donation to a local hospital. They have a list of every affiliated hospital in the nation, and you can donate more than just cash, but games, systems and accessories as well. They usually also run an online charity auction in addition to the main auction in Seattle.
I wish I could be there, but the hand of a state that I live in isn't really an afternoon drive away. Hope everything goes great with your childs play event.
@SnowWolf75 Kotaku is sponsoring the event, with all proceeds going to Child's Play. Here's the article, which I should have posted in the first place. Oh well.
